"FAREWELL TO URBAN RETAIL"
THE INFAMOUS URBAN RETAILER" COMMANDER SOLOMANDER" IS CLOSING THIER DOORS FOR GOOD OVER THE SUMMER. THE STORE IS CLOSING ITS DOORS IN URBAN RETAIL STYLE BY THROWING A HUGE FAREWELL CLEARENCE OF ITS ENTIRE STORE. THE STORE WAS A HEADQUARTERS FOR EIGHTIES GRUNGE AND URBAN FASHION LOVERS. The store is doing an entire 70 to 80 percent discount of it's final items. From discounted vintage clothing, marked down retro sunglasses, quirky jewerly and accessories of all kinds. Everything in this wacky shop MUST GO.
As I entered the store to pick through the fun findings, I came across marked down fashionable Michael Jackson memorabilia, trendy summer dresses and a business card table where local freelance artist display thier ads. There were vinatge rock and pop posters plastered among the walls. And a magazine rack filled with Complex and GIANT magazines featuring Katy Perry and R & B singer Maxwell. This Georgetown based shop was the fashion treasure trunk of vintage fashion lovers.Even Andy Warhol shopped at this location once. This store was really something to see back in its hay day of punk rockers and urban eighties partygoers. IT'S NOTHING LIKE WALKING INTO THE STORE AND HEARING HIP HOP,POP AND ROCK MUSIC BLASTING THROUGHOUT THE STORE AS YOU BROWSE THIS VINTAGE SHOP.
I too am a Solamander fan. When I stroll the streets of Georgetown in search of my retro findings,it is really heartbreaking that this store is closing and won't be there to supply my retro needs. I strolled into the store and did manage to find a few tarnished but still trendy Juicy Couture charms marked down to 70 percent from it's original price. The other mark downs include, BLACK LABEL and vintage NIKE that are among the many marked down labels waiting to be purchased. The store is owned by another downsizing retailer,
UP AGAINST THE WALL. The store is closing due to the economic failing world of fashion.
So if you by chance happen to wanna stop in and take advantage of this farewell sale, here's the address.
